Workout #3 - Push/Pull/Drag Gauntlet

  1. For division 2 females, the last segment of the workout, do we have to scale the pullups? If we can do them...will we be allowed to do them instead of ring rows?

  2. For div 2 females, for the cleans, do they have to be power? Or can we squat if needed?

    This wod looks fantastic!!

  3. So it's 5 minutes to establish a 3 rep max on the cleans, or is it 3 minutes?. Does it matter how many attempts you make, like can the first couple be at a warmup weight without it affecting your score?

And then the pullup/squat/prowler is a 5 minute amrap scored as max rounds completed?

And does scored individually mean there are actually 5 workouts where each athlete is scored and ranked?

  5. Helen - you will have to scale the pull-ups to the ring rows.

Kin fly - The cleans do not have to be power cleans you can squat them if you want - you will just haev to fully extend the hips at the top of course.

NOTE - For division 1 athletes - you can power clean and then front squat the weight as well. It does not haev to be a full squat clean.

Corey - The second section is five minutes in total just as all the sections are.

Yes the pull-up/squat and prowler portion is for total reps and rounds.

Section #2 of the gauntlet - refer to main page as i posted a comment there with changes to this section

  6. In the last portion of workout 3 I think div 3 males should have to do chin to bar pull-ups. People can do them one at a time if needed.

Looking at the other movements and weights I think that if a div 3 male can do those things they can do 8 pull-ups. IMHO :)

  7. The purpose of an amrap last round is for people to be continually moving and racing the clock. Performing single pull-ups for sets of 8 would take too long and be boring for both the competitor and those watching. All those competing will have enough trouble with the prowler let alone worrying about the pull-ups.

Note if your in division three and you can do sets of 8 pull-ups unbroken for five minutes then you should probably be in div 2.

  8. Brian - I agree with Anthony completely.

The point is to move quickly - so your job is to now get more rounds than anyone else. Kill it!
